Bucket List

What I want to accomplish, and what I never want to forget.  Started January 4th, 2009; last updated July 6th, 2025



Top Goals:
  1. Get strong. Maintain your body all your life. Use calisthenics, and free weights where needed (2019). Learn to be able to do:
    1. Muscle Up (on a bar)
    2. One arm chinup
    3. Straddle Planche (Tuck Planche 2023)
  2. Improve your cooking and eating abilities. Be more consistent with meal planning
  3. Get good at climbing (5.12) and bouldering (V6)
  4. Finish Undergrad  (2011. I did it!)
  5. Finish Optometry School (2015. Finished!)
  6. Finish your BSc in Computing and Information Systems
  7. Become financially self-sufficient (2016. I live on my own and own a house now, so mission accomplished!!)
  8. Pay off all debt (T-minus 7 years)
  9. Become proficient with leatherworking (2023. I hand made almost all of my Christmas presents, and have now been commissioned to make custom objects for my friends!)
  10. Create an electronic health records system

Skills & Activities:
  1. Go to as many concerts for your favorite bands as possible. (2018, ongoing)
  2. Go on as many rock climbing trips as possible
  3. Go with Mom on a really cool trip (2023. We went to Europe)
  4. Visit Las Vegas again (2014, 2016)
  5. Explore some caves (2016)
  6. Go and see actual molten lava!
  7. Become proficient with Mountain Biking and ride regularly (2022. I got both a mountain bike AND a fat bike. Now I can ride year round!)
  8. Learn to snowboard or ski (2019. I'm a beginner, but trying!)
  9. Take an aerial silks class (2019. It was fun!)
  10. Go hang gliding (2017)
  11. Go kayaking more (2022. Now to learn the roll!)
  12. Travel to interesting places with great people. See:
    1. Antarctica (see the striped icebergs!)
    2. Scandinavia
    3. Forest Grove (2018, 2025)
    4. Smith Rock (for climbing)

Personal Life & Growth
  1. Never lose Regain "Janna's Enthusiasm". (I lost my joy somewhere along the way. I have to find it again)
  2. Get better at making friends and being good at friendships (2018. Love my friends)
  3. Do what's right for you, and don't feel guilty for it.  It's not selfish to live life your own way. (2018)
  4. Live more consciously.  Be present. (2017)
  5. Learn to better control your stress levels. (I had to uncross this one, it's a problem again)
  6. Buy your own house (2016. I DID IT)
  7. Read more books (2021. I listened to 22 books in a year)
  8. Be more direct and authentic with other people (2023. I'm getting better at having difficult conversations with people)
